Behind the Scenes for Cat Reinheimer

Last week I collaborated with a fellow photographer, Melissa Scheuerman, on a shoot for designer Cat Reinheimer. I wanted to try my hand at shooting fashion and portraits with film, since most of my film work that I have done has been street photography or landscape photography. So I basically just creeped on the shoot with my Canon AE-1 😉

Results were better than expected! As usual I used Kodak Portra 400 film. Models featured are Alice Goodman and Amelia Iachi.

I really liked shooting fashion and concept in film and I think I’m ready to do it when I do my own shoots now. The reason I have held off for so long on shooting fashion with film is because there is so much that goes into a creative concept shoot that to not have the photos turn out would be a disservice to everyone involved. I never really care so much if my street photos don’t turn out because I only disappoint myself. I’ll probably do both a mix of film and digital for quite a bit though, just in case!

It helps that Ritz Camera is still open in Towson. They did a great job processing and they charged $30 for three rolls. I love Tech Lab, but Ritz got the job done just as well in so much shorter of a time span.

  1. awesome, I must say, after reading all your different blogs and viewing your photos, I really like the clarity of film, better than digital..hope film never dies 😀
